Welcome to the
" La Vallée Petite-Nation "
in the Outaouais

Petite-Nation means Little or Lesser Nation (of the Algonquins). This name comes from the region's original inhabitants whose presence goes back many centuries. These people of the Algonquin Nation were named the Oueskanini, which means "people of the little nation". The Kichesipinini were the people of the "Great Nation", residing north of what is now known as the Ottawa Region.
